The NYSAA Child Safeguarding\Welfare Officer is Andy Rickard.
NYSAA is a voluntary organisation run by a small group of volunteers who make up the officers of the association. Its main role is ‘the advancement of the moral and physical welfare and development of school pupils through the medium of athletics’. The involves organising County events and selecting athletes to attend National Championships throughout the year.
NYSAA acknowledges its moral and legal obligation to provide a duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and is committed to ensuring its safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with best practice along with ESAA requirements.
